I have an important question. Cause ive got very few information about overdenture as a dentist. Could you explain overdenture treatment step by step in a video on your channel? Cause i dont know which is the first? Implant or denture

RIGHT, two implants on the bottom WILL NOT HOLD BOTTOM TEETH IN.. NEVER !!!!!! I PAID A FORTUNE FOR THIS AND IT NEVER WORKED, THE TEETH FLAPPED AND TWISTED. I ended up getting implants top and bottom, full sets.

How often would the inserts need to be replaced? Also, is it necessary to have a zirconia denture instead of acrylic for strength?

4 locators as shown are good for dentists wallet . 3 implant are enough and sometimes better in this case. Most patients feel well with 2 locator implants.

Until the prices of implants come down, it's a no go.; it's quite a profitable racket for prosthodontists and periodontists.

Hi Michael, Love your videos. I have a quick question and want to get your opinion on it. I have a patient who had an implant placed #12. she is missing 13 -15. Do you think the fixed locator would support a small appliance from 12-14 with 13 and 14 supported as well on the ridge.$ Thanks in advanced for your opinion. Lanny

As my prosthetist explained my options, I was going traditional, then changed to locator on the bottom and standard upper; and ended up with four implants top and bottom for locator on the bottom, and a bar locator on top. Yes my cost tripled if not quadrupled. At nearly 57, and close to $40K to $50K in standard dentistry over my lifetime; other than maintenance, this will be my last major dental procedure. And my cost will be about equal; but my quality of life has already skyrocketed, and I’m still using adhesive to hold my intermediate standard dentures in place while my bone grows around the implants. This last part was my “gotcha” point. Not 100% guaranteed, but with implants, I should retain some or most bone structure, so in twenty years, with my dentures out, my face will not look like a Bugs Bunny cartoon collapsed in on itself. I took money out of my 401K to pay for some of this. May sound insane, but what good is retirement if I cannot enjoy it? Constant toothaches, going for root canal again and again. Wishing I had enough tooth structure to get a bridge again. The first came off when the anchor teeth gave out. Crowns come off when the tooth base rotted away. If you have the means, somehow, someway, do it. Spend the extra, because I can tell you, standard dentures are awful when trying to do my job and fulfill my church functions of leading the choir.

Thank you, Doctor. Husband is looking to have his remaining 16 teeth extracted and replace with dentures. My question is; He has Osteoporosis. Would that preclude the use of implants? He is 79 years old. And, yes, cost is a very big factor. I very much appreciate your informative video and I am sure it will help us to make the best choice for him.

Hi doctor, what hapens when the implat are below the pacient gum surface. Does the doctor need to laser my gums or, can he order tallest abutments?

Space under denture always a store house of food particles and patient with dry mouth again cleansing effect of salaiva shows difficulties hence how to maintain this wonderful prosthesis in mouth and screws also undergo corrosion ,hence poor patients paying lot of money later they should not feel asif they are cheated. Always patients should watch how to maintain these dentures and no denture is permanent

how is VDO established without a bite rim?

I noticed that you didn't have the patient occlude while you were setting the material. Seems rather dangerous not to ascertain that the occlusion is proper before you set the attachments to the intaglio surface..... Is the rest of the intaglio surface of the denture tissue borne? or are the only surfaces touching the intaglio surface at the two locators?

I'm still confused so this is for Snap ins wat about the fixed locator

Best est. I've gotten is 25 to 45K from the 3 different inquiries I've made in two years. Will keep at it I guess. The confidence I get from little more than ballpark figures with zero guarantee gives a less than willingness to gamble away my life savings. It is a shame, but life goes on. I do miss that BBQ stake though!

You freakin kiddin me Doc,,,,,im waitin on em to make 7-lb buttons myself...And isnt funny how nobody called ISDs' ISDs in the beginning (yrs ago)...Me' im goin wth ISDs on bottom & implant bar up top (its my on dental plans & ideas)...So all i have left now is the bck top implants left to install (thn all the tuff work 4me will be over after 5yrs' finally.. (im A firm believer tht any xtreme dental work dunn 2the mouth takes 6 to 8 month's of healing atleast).. Just my dental opinion
